Frank has been the CEO of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust since November 2005. The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust takes young people aged between 8-24 sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from Cancer and Leukaemia. He is passionate about the Trust and since 2005 has overseen a period of expansion since he joined. Frank has been involved in working with young people in the outdoors for the majority of his working life.
Iain Valentine DSc CBiol BSc FRSB FLS is Director of Zoocraft Limited, a professional Zoo and Aquaria Consultancy Company, working principally with established and new zoo and aquaria projects and operators in China.
Previously while at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland he held various senior positions within the organisation over the 15 years he was with the organisation, latterly as the Director of Giant Panda Programme and Senior Policy Advisor.
Before this his role Iain was Director of Animals, Education and Conservation, responsible for all aspects in the running of RZSS’s two animal collections, animal, all the educational and ex situ and in situ research & conservation projects work and staff within RZSS.
He is a Chartered Biologist, Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London and a member of the IUCN Conservation Breeding Specialist Group.
Gareth is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and has more than 30 years experience of financial management & reporting gained through working in universities, further education colleges, charities and private health. He is currently employed as a Finance Professional within the Scottish Civil Service.
Liz is a charity sector professional with a wealth of experience in fundraising and management roles in sectors including: health, social welfare, disability and sensory impairment, volunteering and housing/homelessness. Liz specialises in statutory, trust and lottery fundraising and creating and maintaining long term relationships.
